The initial pain relief and anesthetic injection can sting. But, like getting pain medicine at the dentist, it is only for a moment. They should drift off very peacefully without pain.

Appointments are typically 30 min to 2 hours depending on family preference and pet need.
I want to make sure that I take the time needed for the pet to be comfortable and your family to say goodbye.

Vomiting and seizure can be rare side effects depending on the pets brain health and last meal. However, I never recommend denying food if a pet will eat and vomitus can be cleaned. I also give specific medications to prevent seizure, especially when I know ahead of time the pet has neurologic problems.

I partner with Furever Loved Pet Cremation to provide cremation services for my patients.
The pet cremation process is carried out in much the same way as a human cremation.
The remains are placed in a high temperature oven until they are reduced to dust and dried bones. Those remains are then pulverized and put into an urn for pet parents to receive or scattered in a communal garden.
-
Communal cremation is a procedure were multiple pets are cremated at the same time. Remains are not returned to the pet parents and are scattered in a communal garden.
Private cremation is a procedure where a single pet is present during the cremation. All remains processed and returned are of that individual pet.
-
I do not provide burial services, but pet parents are free to bury their loved ones subject to their local ordinances.
Due to the medicines used in the euthanasia process, remains should be buried 3-4 feet deep and away from any food producing plants to avoid contamination and wildlife.
